SERVSAFE FOOD SAFETY MANAGER CERTIFICATION
The ServSafe Program leads the way in providing comprehensive educational materials to the restaurant industry through face-to-face and online instruction. More than 5 million food service professionals have been certified through the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Examination, which is accredited by the American National Standards Institute-Conference for Food Protection.
The ServSafe® program provides food safety training, exams, and educational materials to food service managers. Students can earn the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification, accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-Conference for Food Protection (CFP). The program blends the latest FDA Food Code, food safety research, and years of food sanitation training experience. Managers learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a food safety culture. All content and materials are based on actual job tasks identified by food service industry experts. All classes are held at the URA Offices, 5645 South Waterbury Way D-203, Salt Lake City, Utah 84121. The book and test are offered in several different languages; call to ask for more information. All courses require a minimum of 24 hours notice to enroll.
First-Time Certification:
Managers certifying in food safety for the first time are required to take the 8-hour class by the
State of Utah. The class and test take place at our office every Wednesday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM in English.
Preregistration is required; please click on the calendar date below to enroll online or call our office at 801.274.7309. Payment is required at the time of registration. Late arrival will
necessitate rescheduling. A minimum 24-hour business day cancellation notice is required to
receive a refund.
Please call to request a paper exam. We require 7 – 10 business days to fill this request. Our Wednesday ServSafe classes have shifted to online testing, providing immediate results. Please bring a laptop computer or tablet for testing online. If you cannot secure an electronic device or have questions, please call the Utah Restaurant Association.
*Korean, French Canadian, Japanese, and Large Print exams are available only in paper tests. Please contact our office to make arrangements for those exams. Please allow 10 – 14 business days for results from paper tests.
